P&LE freight station at Connellsville218 viewsThis sits a few blocks from the P&LE Station on 7th street, west of the WM/PLE right of way, and directly in line with the PWV bridge.

P&LE Depot at Connellsville185 viewsthe freight station in Connellsville was actually owned by the P&LE, not the P&WV. The lot that it sits on and where the Martins store sits was the location of a small P&LE yard. The WM and P&WV rails never actually touched, the P&WV came off the Youghiogheny River bridge and connected to the P&LE for maybe a 150 yards till they connected with the WM. In front of the P&LE elevated station in your photos is where the P&LE and WM connected at P&LE mile post CP56Y. Courtesy of Aaron.

Elevated Line thru Connellsville250 viewsThese concrete piers are all that remains of the WM's elevated track through Connellsville, PA. They make an interesting study in concrete weathering.

Remains of the Elevated Line222 viewsConnellsville, PA 2-15-08. There was a fill embankment beyond the large abutment on the right, and the piers in front carried what I believe was a steel structure over several streets and driveways.

P&WV Bridge, Connellsville 2-15-08240 viewsThe Pittsburgh and West Virginia, and later the Norfolk and Western, used this bridge to connect with the WM and P&LE tracks in Connellsville PA. Westbound Alpha Jets would cross this bridge on their way to Pittsburgh and the midwest.

Connellsville Station - 2008223 viewsThe WM shared this station with the Pittsburgh and West Virginia. The tracks were elevated and ran on a steel bridge and fill through the center of town. There was a catwalk from the tower to reach track level.
